A 25-year veteran of magazine publishing, David is group publisher of Babcox Publications’ Tire Review, Fleet Equipment and Transport Technology Today (T3) magazines. Throughout his career, David has served in a variety of sales and management positions with such trade journals as Fleet Owner and Heavy Duty Trucking and in private industry. David is a past member of The American Trucking Associations, Technology & Maintenance Council, the Society of Automotive Engineers and numerous state truck associations. This ex-SCCA racer is a marketing/communications graduate of the University of Dayton.

With more than 24 years in the tire and automotive industries, Jim's communications experience includes stints as a newspaper reporter and editor, a public relations manager and a variety of creative and management roles with an advertising agency. The Kent State University journalism major served as editor and associate editor for a number of community newspapers in Northeast Ohio before joining Modern Tire Dealer in 1984, where he served as senior editor and editor of the Kovach Tire Report. After four years in brand and corporate public relations roles with Bridgestone/Firestone, Jim joined Nashville's Stumpf Bartels Advertising in 1992. He became Tire Review's editor in October 1999.

Denise Koeth is managing editor of Tire Review magazine. Denise writes feature articles on various tire segments, as well as managing and editing the magazine's various featured columns. She also manages Tire Review Online, the magazine's well-read Web site. Denise has a strong journalism background, and served as feature section writer and news reporter for the Medina County Gazette and was a reporter for the Barberton Herald, both located in the Akron area. She is a graduate of the University of Akron with a degree in communications.

Steve LaFerre joined Tire Review in August 2002 as contributing editor. He is responsible for the magazine's regular Tire Tech feature and develops and writes cover features and works on other projects. Steve started in the tire industry as assistant editor of Modern Tire Dealer in 1967. He became editor in 1979 but left shortly thereafter to head up the public relations department at the then BFGoodrich Tire Co. He survived the company’s incarnation as Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Co. and Michelin North America's later purchase of the company. After leaving Michelin in 1995, Steve started his own consulting firm. He was a contributing editor for Modern Tire Dealer and wrote many of its feature stories.

A self-professed car nut and racing enthusiast, Asa is far better known as an expert commercial tire engineer and marketer. During his 34-year career with Goodyear, Asa worked in a variety of development, marketing and sales engineering positions – covering the passenger, light truck and medium/heavy truck tire arenas. His thorough understanding of tires and their users has made him an informative and entertaining speaker and a valued addition to the Tire Review staff. Asa earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, a master's degree in finance and marketing from the University of Akron and a law degree from the same university. A member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and past chairman of the RMA Tire Engineering Committee, Asa is also a recipient of the coveted Silver Spark Plug award from the Technology & Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations.

Scott Blair, Performance Editor

Author of the popular Performance column that appears in most issues of Tire Review, Scott is a performance market veteran who has been actively involved in the tire and wheel business for many years, serving a wide range of both classic- and late-model customers. In addition, Scott operates Wheel Works, a company that promotes and markets his invention – Tire Mount Mate, a device that makes it easy and safe for dealers to test fit tire and wheel combinations on any car or light truck.

Now a freelance business writer, editor and author, John's long journalism career included serving as editor of industry-leading trade journals American Paint and Wallpaper Dealer and Decorating Retailer. John's monthly Business Sense column and retail management stories that also appear in Tire Review clearly demonstrate his unique inside perspective and expertise. The journalism graduate of the University of Missouri started his communications career as a newspaper reporter and radio broadcaster before becoming a successful and respected trade magazine editor. John is also the author of widely read retail management books.
