Adding a Touch of Class
Making your dealership more appealing to customers doesn’t always have to involve big changes to your dÉcor. Often, little touches, such as better reading material in the waiting area, can have a noticeable impact on your business. And a more appealing dealership will allow you to broaden your market, increase your revenue and keep your customers.
For some stores, something as simple as a coat of paint can make a huge difference. For automotive service operations in particular, sparkling clean bathrooms and waiting areas are extremely important. All customers – women especially – notice and appreciate this extra effort.
Obviously, the key to gaining an edge over your competitors lies in paying attention to your customers. Let them know you’re always on the alert for new ways to keep them coming back. Look at your competitors to see what they are doing – and what they are not doing – to create a more appealing environment. Often, something your competitor has overlooked can be easily and inexpensively incorporated into your operation.
Finally, conduct a brainstorming session with your employees on new ways to satisfy customers, and make it an idea free-for-all. Encourage them to be as creative as possible. All you want to do is collect as many ideas as possible. Write everything down. Later, you can analyze the list to determine which ideas are practical and potentially effective.
